Radeon

Radeon is a massive city in the center of Alizarin, and it is the political, cultural, and economic center of the arid southerly kingdom.

Geography

Layout

Radeon is a humble-jumble city, made of various free-reign districts. The city as a whole is "controlled" by peacekeeping and police forces, though the real power lies in the hands of the four political parties that control Alizarin itself: Republis, Democratus, Sylvanus and Libertaria. As a result, the city has no central planner and is somewhat chaotic in layout. Much of the architecture is held up with magic, which the city is practically bathed in. Anything besides official kingdom buildings (which there are few of, mostly the town wall and some barracks and government quarters) requires the upkeep of the private sector. Tight security at the gates keeps heavily armed people from coming in, and this serves as a very effective method of preventing riots and petty crime (though organized crime thrives within the loosely controlled confines of the metropolis). There are numerous districts for business, political, military, common, residential, elven, and even red-light purposes (among others).

Landscape

Radeon lies at the center of large (mostly sunny) valley in the center of Alizarin. A ring of mountains dotted with fortresses surrounds this valley, and for the most part keeps invading forces from making a direct assault on the city. If the city were to come under attack, though, the likelihood of the unified city being able to repel an invasion is very high, seeing as many of the most powerful mages and mercenary fighting forces in the continent make their home in Radeon.

Climate

Radeon is mostly sunny throughout the year, as it lies in the center of a large arid valley. Winter and early spring, however, tends towards wetness and cold.

History

Radeon became the de facto capital of the newly-formed Alizarin Republic when it splintered off from the Old Empire.

Culture

Demographics

Ugh I don't know.
