This is a concept for a "Super Smash Bros. Melee" type game, except with Artist Party campaign characters. It would be the most HARDCORE game ever, and it will happen when someone with programming proficiency decides to
get the ball rolling.

Controls
Heavily simplified from Smash Bros. Melee controls. The basic commands are: 4-directions, jump, attack, special attack, defend, grapple. There are smash attacks in the four directions, and four special attacks (up, down, side, neutral). Every character has a midair jump, some have an attack that gives them an upward boost at the same time.
Characters
PC Characters
Olio
Most resembles: Link
Olio would be okay at both melee and ranged fighting, and would have an ability similar to Jigglypuff to stun enemies, instead of the regular Down-B. Also gimp her down a bit from Link's ability.
- Neutral Special Attack: Crossbow
- Side: Whip (similar to Sheik's), maybe can disarm?
- Up: Duplicate Self (creates four flashing clones which split. After a few seconds, teleport to location of one of them, depending on how you move the control stick)
- Down: Fascinate / Suggestion (all in range freeze for a few seconds)
Searil
Most resembles: Roy
Searil would, out of all the swordsmen, resemble Roy the most: clumsy and lacking in finesse, but POWERFUL. So she'd really be a cross between Bowser or Ganondorf and Roy for that reason. So she'd have the glassiness and reach of Roy with the power of Bowser or Ganondorf.
- Neutral: Smite Infidel
- Side: Charging Smite
- Down: Divine Blessing (all energy attacks fail)
- Up: Great Cleave (basically spin attack)
Gnaat
Most resembles: Captain Falcon
Fast. Powerful. Uses wierd fist attacks. Rapes after grappling. But all in all, can't take that much punishment.
- Neutral: Flurry of Blows
- Side: Charging Grapple
- Up: Dimension Door
- Down: Improved Trip
Mydo
Most resembles: Link, Game 'n' Watch
Combine that with Link's general fighting ability, except change his down-B attack with something like Peach's vegetable attack, and you got it.
- Neutral: Alchemist's Fire
- Side: Net
- Up: Parachute
- Down: Bag 'o' Tricks (pulls out a random item, some of which may destroy you)
Aeleria
Most resembles: Zelda, Ness
Small, frail, ranged magic and moderate regular attack power. Change her down-B transform move into an animal companion, and you've got Aeleria.
- Neutral: Flaming Sphere (creates a ball which player may control. Leaves body vulnerable)
- Side: Call Lightning (sends out small orb, and lightning strikes wherever it hits)
- Up: Whirlwind (blows away enemies while levitating)
- Down: Wildshape (transforms into wolf or something for better melee)
Aeleria (Wolf Form)
Most resembles: Pokemon?
Aeleria's animal form. Stronger, faster, but doesn't have any special moves.
- Neutral: Building Leap (hold down B to build up, release for powerful leaping bite)
- Side: Charge
- Up: Saw (spins around, jumping a bit and hitting things. Like Samus' Screw Attack, sort of)
- Down: Transform back
Raiden
Most resembles: Metal Link
Slow, powerful, impossible to kill. Make his shield bigger, and you're good. I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO FOR SPECIAL MOVES.
Neutral:
Arinae
Most resembles: Sheik
Quick, graceful, uses a chain. Okay, she can't throw needles or teleport, but she's REALLY good with that chain. Also, make her down-B transform her into Drow form, where she's stronger but easier to hit off (reckless mode).
Raevynn
Most resembles: Young Link
Tiny little shit, hard to hit. Sword, bow, good speed.
- Neutral: Crossbow
- Side: Daggars
- Up: Grappling hook
- Down: (not sure)
NPC Characters
Alistin
Most resembles: Ness
Light and can't fight well at close range, but more wierd ranged shit than you can throw a magic missile at.
Dresvan
Most resembles: Link
Ranged attacks w/ a bow, close attacks, ranged stuff with the bow.
Sir Lawrence
Most resembles: ?
I have no idea what would actually distinguish Sir Lawrence as a character, since he's nothing special in melee.
Foil Characters (somewhat secret)
Ned (Gnaat)
Like Gnaat, but slower running, harder to hit off, better at attacks and worse at grappling.
Geltar (Mydo)
Quicker with his bag of tricks, slightly faster attacks, easier to hit off.
Sara (Searil)
Less clumsy but not as much damage.
That Human Ranger (forgot name)
Hmm. What was his name? Anyway he'd be like a tougher, slower version of Dresvan. Like Ganondorf to Falcon. Or Falco to Fox. Or whatever.
Super-Secret Characters (like as in they're on par with Mewtwo and Game'n'Watch)
Shifty
Most resembles: Zelda
SUCKS at close range. Really. But has good long-range stuff.
Helga
Most resembles: Eh
Not sure, I think we've already covered the Paladin department.
Mydo's Drawing of a Snake
Most resembles: Mr. Game & Watch
Mostly two-dimensional and completely awesome.
Victor
Most resembles: Mewtwo
Yeah, he's strong, but his magic is more subjugatory than directly damaging. I think maybe he's TOO powerful, like he should be an NPC like Gigabowser or Master Hand.

Temple Training Ground - rolling logs cockblock j00.
