Background

Illiustrae is an elven Bard who wanders the land from place to place. Little is known about her besides the enchanting melodies she creates with her flute, and the way she can carry on a conversation.

She is apparently also BUCK NAKED most of the time.

Backstory

(revealed on a half-decent Knowledge (Bardic, Local, History, Nobility check) Illiustrae was born to an upper-class family of elves in a remote village to the east. After about a hundred years, she set out with nothing but her music and her longbow to protect her. She was brimming with hope and joy, and wanted to bring the same to all she came across. However, she knew very little of the world and its evils, believing that most bad feelings could be solved with laughter and song. She learned rather quickly that this was not the case, and that even "good" people were often selfish and violent at heart. Rather than toughening up so she could overlook these flaws, however, she became hardened and cynical, believing that those who were not "evil" already were simply young, lucky, or ignorant. That, or they were hypocrits.

She met Sikle at one point in a tavern, and had no more than a few lines of conversation with him before they parted again.

One night she met Helza, who took advantage of her bitterness and cynicism and worked her way into Illiustrae's soul. Helza had a little fun with her, torturing her and making her do things unwillingly, before devouring her and assimilating all her memories and thoughts.

Goals

Her only apparent goal has been to live sensibly. For awhile she desired "revenge" on "those who had wronged her," although who exactly remained undisclosed. She was also, for a time, loyal to Sikle and the quasi-deific force known as "Elkis." These apparently changed once the party, mostly Lueali, persuaded her to stop trying to take revenge on others. She didn't have very much time to demonstrate her change of heart, since she was almost immediately destroyed before Sikle's re-appearance (and subsequent demise).

Combat

From what has been witnessed, Illiustrae's primary method of fighting is by having other people do the fighting while she summons/empowers them. Who knows, though? She may have all sorts of tricks up her sleeves and, like many other Bards, be more than capable taking on any sort of opponent through sheer trickery and charm.

Relationships

Little is known about Illiustrae's relationships with others, aside from the fact that she seems to be good at making friends and persuading people to perform things they would not have otherwise done. Given she is a Bard, this comes easy and naturally to her, but it leaves one wondering if she has any real friends in the world.
