Background

Once a great travelling mage, Frederick settled down in Juno after having a large magical compound built (seen at right). Funded entirely from his adventures, and as many rumors say, the treasure hordes he came across, the compound is filled to the brim with magical devices. Within, Frederick works quietly on new spells and further research.

Story

Frederick has been written into history as one of the great travelling mages of his time. Known for his solo method and sharp mind, he overcame many challenges that could bring down a fighter of no less reknown. When asked how he did it, he simply replied that he is an artist and the situation was one that needed an artist's touch. Some of the best known instances are the clearing of a cave of hill giants, travelling through underground goblin lairs, and giving an elder wyrm a limp.

He tends to keep a few apprentices from time to time, but often sends them out on missions of some sort or another. Most of the others he keeps doing menial tasks. He never tells these students why he has them do this, nor does he ever give them anything else to do. Somehow the students that stay learn magic rather well. When asked about this, Frederick replied with, "Magic is an art, they have all the facts they need within reach. For the rest, there is little I can do but make sure they're committed and doing it right."
