Father Ikris Nefalim

Background

Ikris, before his death, was the lead priest of Hextor in the Eastern areas of the Western continent. He is humble only to his God and to the concept of law, treating all else, including human life, as secondary to the maintenance of this.

  • Age: 37
  • Height: 5'11, average
  • Weight: 174 pounds
  • Sex: Male
  • Race: Human
  • Hair: Brown
  • Eyes: Green
  • Alignment: Lawful Evil
  • Deity: Hextor
  • Weapon(s): Magic, flail
  • Outlook: "Order and law above all else."

Backstory

Ikris was raised in Kuratoa. His stern and gruff father was a craftsman of fine watches. Ikris grew as a master's child: in the shadow of nobility but standing above the common folk. As such he developed a love for the force that kept both the flighty nobles and the rabble peasant in check: the Law. In his teens he began attending sermons to the God and came to like his cold, utilitarian view of things. He decided to serve Hextor. His father strongly disapproved of this life's path, and Ikris complained to the clerics of Hextor, who quickly found ways in which the man could accused, tried, and hanged for various crimes. This was done, and Ikris began his studies.

After finishing his studies he moved eastward and established a temple to Hextor in that region, which he maintained as his own power grew. For unknown reasons he burned the temple and fled to a castle in the mountains, but was found and destroyed by a band of adventurers. There are no plans on record to bring him back, as his body is now in possession of the Cult of Heironeous.

Goals

Ikris' goals are hazy, even to the upper church hierarchy, but they seem twofold: gain power, and gain status. These tend to balance each other, preventing him from devoting himself totally to his clerical duties but also driving him to avoid the danger-ridden adventurer's life.

Combat

Ikris uses spells to dispatch his foes as quickly as possible. That failing, he will rely on touch attacks and weapons to inflict as much damage as possible. It's rare that he's caught alone in a fight.

Relationships

Ikris openly and shamelessly regards all others as pillars for the strong of the world to stand upon. He sees no inherent value in people other than what they can provide society in terms of material goods. As such, he had no friends, as he is incapable of forming emotional bonds with others. He sorts people into two categories: business partners, and scum to be discredited or destroyed.
