Background

The lead paladin of the Temple of Heironeous, Helga runs her group with an iron laden fist and a booming voice. Never really a polite one unless she's on a diplomatic mission, she is often feared but always respected by those in the temple. Ironically, she's very sweet when she wants to be. Other leaders of the temple think she started acting sour to keep everyone in line, then got stuck that way.

Story

Helga became a paladin before the temple took hold in Juno. Because of this, she never had the benfit of learning the way the new paladins did. Studying primarily on her own and practicing on her family's land, Helga gathered the skills necessary to adventure. She played a pivotal role in the development of the West Wing of the Temple and supervised its construction personally. During this time she also did many diplomatic missions in the name of the King. It was through her influence that neighboring city-states became part of Juno, having been rebellious just before her arrival. Unfortunately it was on one of these trips that she was swarmed by some enraged peasants. The local rulers blamed her and what she represented for the hunger they caused and the peasants, believing their lie, nearly killed her. It was only through a powerful mage that saw her come stumbling out of the city and collapse that she survived. She was placed in a state of suspended animation and taken back to Juno. Unfortunately she was in a very dire state that she'd die before she could be healed. Any attempt to heal her while suspended wouldn't work right away either. Instead, the magic would heal her extremely slowly, barely staving off what injury she took. It wasn't until the East Wing was constructed 150 years later and powerful clerics arrived another 50 years later that she was re-animated. After that, she had her armor imbued with magic to prevent lies. She then returned to that city and single handedly topple the tyranny. Afterward, due to her reputation, she took control of the West Wing and supervised its activities ever since.
