Story

Born as the first son in a family of nobles, Allerance lived the first 13 years of his life in riches. His father, a leader in the Republican house, trained the young Allerance harshly to become a knight of Alizarin, following in his family's footprints. His little sister, Prier would have gladly taken his place as a knight, but their father forbid any daughter of his from heading out into the world. And so, when Allerance was 13 he ran away, confiding only in his sister about his whereabouts.

He traveled for about 2 years with a group of performers, handling smaller jobs such as dealing with the crowds and secretorial work. After a bit he began to feel guilty of his cowardice and especially felt guilty for his younger sister, whom he knew would probably just be married off to some rich, older man. And so he headed back for Alizarin alone.

When he returned, he found nothing but a decrepit, abandoned house. Investigating the matter further, he discovered that his father and mother had both been assassinated during a political upheaval, and his little sister had been raped and reportedly killed. Guilt overcame him, and so determined to protect his family's honor, he became a knight, dropping his last name in fear that assassins would come for him, too.

On his 18th birthday, he left Alizarin for what he hoped was for good. 11 years he spent wandering the countryside, helping those he could and killing those who harmed others. Although he occasionally spent some time with groups, he stayed with them for at most 3 months. Then he went on his way again.

The longest he did spend with a "group" was in the town of Lanberg, with a hidden brothel called the "Red Rabbit." Disguised as an inn, Allerance found himself working at such a place of ill-repute when becoming indebted to the owner of the place after starting a bar brawl with a patron (at the time, he had no idea it was a whore house--he thought of it merely as an inn). Being 22 at the time, he found himself stuck there for a year with the owner constantly making up new "charges" against him. Accepting help from a rather friendly client, he managed to escape the brothel, hoping never to approach that town again.

Role in Party

Although he hasn't been with the party for long, Allerance's skills definitely lie in defense. His forte is certainly in combat, as he has rarely experienced an evil force that _isn't_ violent. While he is able to handle some diplomatic situations, namely with nobility, a situation hasn't come up yet that involves that.

Psychology

Allerance's main weakness is his honor. Unwilling to fight a foe severely weaker than him, and his hesitance at drawing a sword against a woman limits some benefits in combat to him. His desire for self-honor has also resulted in him acting rather... formal constantly. Furthermore, his desire to protect--even at his expense--is a result of the guilt he feels over his family--after all, maybe if he had been there to stop the attack they would have all been alive today.

His loner attitude stems from the fact that he feels as if he is a hindrance to a group, and also because he feels decisions go much more smooth when he has only himself to debate with. This sort of attitude has also, however, resulted in him acting far older than most of his companions.

Alignment

Allerance is neutral good. He feels that order is, in most cases, the best option--but order can be easily abused, and order sometimes does not go hand in hand with retribution. Chaos is sometimes required in order to do good, and so provided it is honorable, these actions are sometimes necessary to protect the ones he loves.

Relationships

Allerance understands friendships as a temporary thing. Especially when out on the road, a person you could be best friends with could be dead the very next day, or worse, holding a knife to your throat.

  • Mydo: Seems like an... insane fellow, that man. Indeed, a bit prankish and a bit of a pervert, I must say. But he does seem friendly enough, although I do say that I can't trust this man on sound advice. Quite the getup, too.

  • Gnaat: ... It was rather embarassing to be unable to distinguish her gender. She seemed rather relaxed about it, at least. A spacey, but friendly fellow--er, I mean, lady.

  • Olio: Friendly, I must say. Although I do have to wonder about this party mentioning that whole "royalty"... escapade. No matter--a friend is a friend, regardless of their... uh... life choices. And nevertheless, her music is inspiring indeed.

  • Raiden: A bit of an enigma. Sir Raiden seems to have his own inner demons, and from what I've heard from Mydo, they are not without merit. The death of a loved one is scarring indeed, but giving up will do them no justice, and will do them no good.

  • Searil: I know nothing of her, but if bringing her back would ease Sir Raiden's pain, then so be it--I will see what I can do.

  • Raevyn: A fragile but friendly girl. I've never met a halfling before, and I must say--the height difference is... awkward. But her kindness is great, just like any other. I'll have to watch out for her, though--that... "Troll," they called it did her some damage.

  • Arinae: I haven't met many elves, either. She seems rather outspoken at times, and it doesn't seem she and the party get along too well. Heh, reminds me of my sister, in a way. She also looks mighty frail, too--I'll have to keep an eye on her.

  • Noodles: I've met a couple of gnomes. Quite the friendly fellows, they are. His ability to dip into the unknown world of the arcane will also prove equally useful to the party.

  • Dresvan: The group has mentioned him once or twice. From what it sounds, they have mixed feelings about him. Despite that, it might be... interesting to engage with a knight of Juno.

  • Shifty: Supposedly some fellow that had his familiar killed by miss Olio. I don't quite understand the situation--why would one get so upset by a rat?

  • Victor von Pthfonkenhausen: A lich, stalking this group of kids? Maybe it would be best to stay with them. I have heard of liches being formidable foes, and this one would be no exception.

  • Sera: Another knight of Alizarin, who supposedly died in the town of Rosenburg. I don't know much about her, and I certainly haven't met her.

  • Lady Avarice: Something about being the double of the leader of the temple of Heironeous. Oh dear, that was a mouthful. These kids sure do have quite the predicament. Nonetheless, I cannot tolerate one who slaughters and especially rapes the innocent, regardless of their gender.

  • Nebuchadnezzer: Head of the Libertarians. I've heard a bit about the sir, but I've tried to stay out of Alizarin's political scheme ever since it murdered my family.

Quotes

    • "... I am never listening to your advice again, Sir Mydo."

    • "Sir Mydo, there are no such things as sexual zombies!"
